Pricing I have received a few messages lately about the prices of my work. Despite that I dislike listing my prices and did not do so, I have recently decided to mention the price for my paintings. I will do so for the most recent works. Should you be interested in an older work without a price, please let me know.
For your information, I have a special price point for studies and 'en plein air' work.

Hi! I’m Mike — painter and nature enthusiast.

In a world that spins ever faster — where we’re constantly urged to do more, where efficiency rules, and where we seem addicted to stimulation — I turn to my art to find stillness, space, and air. My work rarely begins in a studio full of concepts; it takes shape outside: cycling, in the water, or walking. I’m always searching for beauty — a splash of light, the twist of a gnarled tree, the quiet shimmer of a reflection in water.
Each painting begins with a strong composition. I’m drawn to images that appear realistic from afar, yet dissolve into brushstrokes up close. Photorealism isn’t my aim — I want the work to breathe, to move, and to carry the emotion I felt in that moment.
To reach that, I need stillness — as a person and as an artist. It’s in stillness that I truly connect with the places I paint. It sharpens my senses to the beauty in small things, the details most might overlook. Often, I can’t name what resonates until I’m painting it; but when it clicks, it connects on a deeper, more meaningful level.
